How the four-person Ambrose works

  • Teams are 4 players. Individuals are welcome to enter and will be allocated to a team.
  • All four players tee off on every hole.
  • The team selects the best positioned ball.
  • All four players then play from that position.
  • Continue this process until the ball is holed.
  • Each player must contribute a minimum of 4 tee shots during the round.

Handicap calculation

Team handicap is 10% of the combined handicaps of all 4 players.

Players without an official handicap may use an estimated handicap, subject to a maximum of 24 for men and 36 for women.

Women, maximum

This is a fun fundraising event and golfers of all abilities are welcome.

OUR OMAHA

A coastal links course, twenty minutes from Matakana.

Omaha Beach Golf Club sits between the dunes and the estuary at the end of the Matakana valley. Wind off the water, tight coastal turf and open sightlines make it a course worth taking a day off for. Visit the Omaha Beach Golf Club website.

Spring is one of the better times of the year for golf on this coast, with long light, firm fairways and the course coming into its summer condition.

Omaha Beach Golf Club is delighted to be working alongside Matakana School to support this year’s Golf Day, continuing the Club’s strong involvement in local community and charity events.

OUR SCHOOL

Matakana School belongs to more than its current parents.

Many of the people who support the school are grandparents, aunts, uncles, former parents, neighbours, local employers and friends. The golf day gives that wider community a practical and enjoyable way to stand behind the school.

Funds raised through the Golf Day go directly to Matakana School classrooms and initiatives that benefit our students. The event is organised by Matakana School volunteers.

Food and hospitality

A relaxed experience around the course.

Enjoy fantastic food, drinks and refreshments available around the course throughout the day, adding to a relaxed and memorable golf day experience. Food and drinks are available to purchase separately from your entry.

A raffle and a small number of approved on course activities, including mulligans, a professional drive and closest to the pin, are available on the day at additional cost. There is no auction.
